Rashid Salleh is best known in Malaysia as an actor where he dedicated over 20 years in local theatre (a place to hone one’s skill), television (where the money is to be made) and film (when you can see a much LARGER version of yourself).
He was part of a successful cast of a local Malaysian English sitcom "Kopitiam" that received an award at the 1998 Asian Television Awards for “Best Comedy Programme”, and is currently available on Netflix & VIU Malaysia.
Rashid has been nominated in several local television awards and, in film, was nominated as Best Actor in a supporting role (as a transvestite) in "Waris Jari Hantu" at the 2007 Malaysian Film Festival Award and appeared, more recently, in "Sangkar".
He was also a sportscaster for SportsCenter Asia and Malaysia, ESPN’s anchor programme, a presenter on Astro Arena, Malaysia’s first Bahasa Malaysia’s 24-hour sports channel and a stint with Fox Sports Asia covering the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup Football Tournament.
He has also worked as the International TV Media coordinator as part of the Creative Activities Unit of the Office of the President of Timor-Leste.
He is an experienced MC having hosted various events around the World.
Rashid has also written, produced & directed in television.
He currently runs Toucan Media which produces content for social media including The RSS with HD, IN 20, MMA Talkshow, Cobra TV and more recently, In The Kitchen With Rashid Salleh & PC HO.
