Rashid Salleh is an experienced actor, comedian, director, presenter, MC and writer.

 

In a career spanning almost 3 decades, he has performed in theatre, television, film, sports TV broadcasting and various social media platforms.

 

On stage, he appeared in various roles including No Exit, Merchant of Venice and The Two Of Us amongst other theatre productions.

 

On screen, he was part of a successful cast of the local Malaysian English TV sitcom KOPITIAM which received an award at the 1998 Asian Television Awards for Best Comedy Programme. He has also appeared in other sitcoms, telemovies and drama series.

 

He has been nominated in several local television awards and in Film, he received the nomination for Best Actor in a supporting role in the film WARIS JARI HANTU at the 2007 Malaysian Film Festival Award.

 

He has also directed several programmes, most recently being the first ever Iban language sitcom, TEMBAWAI KANYUK, which was first aired on TVS (TV Sarawak) on June 1st 2022.

 

As a TV presenter, he was part of the THE BREAKFAST SHOW on ntv7, a live morning talk show aired daily on week days for several years.

 

In sports TV broadcasting, he is a former sportscaster for ESPN’s anchor programme, SportsCenter Asia and Malaysia. He was a presenter on ASTRO ARENA, Malaysia’s first Bahasa Malaysia’s 24-hour sports channel as well as a stint with FOX SPORTS ASIA hosting the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup Football Tournament.

 

He has also appeared in several TV commercials in the past.

 

On the international front, he previously worked as the International TV Media coordinator as part of the Creative Activities Unit of the Office of the President of Timor-Leste.

 

He is an also an experienced Master of Ceremonies,  having hosted various events around the globe.

 

Currently, he continues to spend his time behind the scenes in TV and is also a Director at Rashomon PR Sdn Bhd, a company which provides integrated Public Relations based in Kuching, Sarawak.
